More on Oxrhynchus Papyri – Gospel of Thomas

Another profound quotation from another Logion of the Oxrhynchus Papyri (Gospel of Thomas):  ”Jesus saith, I stood in the midst of the world and in the flesh was I seen of them, and i found all men drunken, and none found I athirst among them, and my soul grieveth over the sons of men, because they are blind in their heart and see not.”

Not much has changed in 2000 years. Mary Baker Eddy says in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures:

S&H 95:28
“Lulled by stupefying illusions, the world is asleep in the cradle of infancy, dreaming away the hours. Material sense does not unfold the facts of existence; but spiritual sense lifts human consciousness into eternal Truth. Humanity advances slowly out of sinning sense into spiritual understanding; unwillingness to learn all things rightly, binds Christendom with chains.”
